Just Another Chapter moves from the deeply personal to the communal, from one woman's interior world to the shared human story, from private grief to collective hope. Each poem is followed by a short prose reflection called The Story Behind the Poem, in which the author opens the door she used to enter the writing and invites the reader to find their own way in.
This is a collection about identity and reclamation. About the dignity that belongs to every person regardless of what has been taken from them. About the resilience that lives in communities the world has overlooked.
It is also an invitation. To sit with your own story long enough to find the poem already living inside it.
